Default Does mpb affect the speed of your hair growth??

It has been 3 months!!! Since I shaved my hair down to the bone. And I just measured the length of my hair on the top my head and it is just slightly under 1inch!! WTF is going on?

The hair at the back and sides grows at twice the rate of the top and I have had to trim it down twice during those months.

This ****ing sucks, my hair looks like shit! It's ridiculous. My hair used to grow like wild fire.

ive read male pattern baldness decreases the length of time of the grow phase...so i wouldnt be suprised if at the same time its also decreasing the rate at which it grows. sorry your hairs not looking good. how did you look with the shaved head?

Well that sucks, but it makes sense. I dunno, ok I guess, but much, much older, which I didn't like. I think if I was much older I could accept being bald, but being bald at 22 it just doesn't look right.

i feel ya man - im 23 so, right there with you.

I took a look at mine and i cut my hair with an 8 guard on top 5 on side and its been 1.5 months and my sides are a little bit longer than the top...so i guess i am experiencing the same thing.

hair is supposed to grow 1/4-1/2'' a month...so it sounds like your hair is still in the "normal" range of growth...even though the back/sides are faster

ive been on propecia for 8 months, rogaine for 2 month, nizoral for ~1 month

im kind of a weird case...i used rogaine for 7 months before going on propecia and then stopped using rogaine...so i went through a huge shed from quitting rogaine, but am back on it now...

waiting, not very patiently, for that "hey its working" feeling.

still a NW2 but with clear thinning towards a NW3 vertex....

Sounds like your hair is very similar to mine, NW 2/2.5 with some bad thinning at the crown. Do you feel the propecia has at least maintained your hair?

i honestly couldnt tell you. like i said, i went through a huge shed from quitting rogaine for 3 months or so...and now that ive been back on it, ive been going through the initial shedding all over again. so i cant tell if my mpb is just progressing or if its the sheds.

Im not going to assess effectiveness of the big 3 for me until maybe june, which will be around 7 months of rogaine/1 year propecia.

just gotta power through the dark days i suppose. not feeling great about my hair today but whatdya gonna do.

you too man. takes some balls to shave the hair down like you did, congrats.

the prospect of future treatments and the fact that I should hopefully start to see results within the year from rogaine/propecia are a few things that keep me postive.

even if i dont see results, ill buzz the hair and move on with life...
2 of my friends are already pretty bald and another is getting there...so im not worried about being mocked or the social stigma (much) anymore
