Default If you start taking propecia before reaching puberty?

If someone starts taking propecia before puberty, will he ever grow facial hair, given that he keeps on taking it. I know that nobody will take propecia before puberty as hair loss only occurs after puberty, but I was asking just out of curiosity. Maybe a man who wants to look effeminate, for example, Justin Bieber, might even do that, you never know !

I doubt anyone knows that they never studied it. In theory yes, but its not for sure. Your probably taking your chances doing it I mean yeah it helps hair, but you have to keep in mind DHT does do other things many we dont know about yet probably.

It would be interesting if they did a small study on it. There are a whole lot of unanswered questions about hair loss still and even the role of DHT in facial hair is still one of them.

Would depend on how much testosterone is going around in the first place.

The reason DHT is known for reducing hair loss is due to that tribal thing where the young men were somewhat androgynous until later in adult life.

But they also had the limited DHT before they were even born. If you took it away from a developing male you would likely scar his sex organ development and ability to become a man significantly.

Propecia is not perfect at stopping DHT but my guess is that DHT triggers facial hair to start growing, but then testosterone is enough to keep it growing even if you then removed DHT afterwards like most men do by taking finasteride. So I think if you stopped both T and DHT from interacting with the facial hair that you would prevent it from ever happening maybe if you took dutasteride or a more powerful DHT inhibitor before you ever had any facial hair.
