Nizoral vs. Nioxin
When I went to the doctor she told me to start using Nioxin shampoo.
But on this forum is seems like most people use Nizoral.
Are these two shampoos the same thing? Can someone tell me which one I should use?
Thanks.

These two shampoos are not the same. Many people get those two confused with each other.
Nioxin does absolutely nothing to treat hereditary hair loss in any meaningful way.
Nizoral contains the active ingredient Ketoconazole, which is a helpful adjunct treatment that can compliment first and second line treatments (Propecia and Rogaine) for hereditary hair loss.
Non prescription strength Nizoral is getting very difficult to find. Ask your doctor to write you a prescription for the prescription strength version of Nizoral. Only use it once a week.
