Default Norwood Rating Opinion - 25, started treatment.

    Hi folks,

I’m a 25-year-old male and have just started treating my MPB. I’ve always had long wavy hair and therefore had never really paid to much attention to my hairline.

Early last year (January 2012), I cut my hair short and noticed my hairline was receding. I've now decided to take action and I'm on the 'big 3' Finasterdie (Propecia tablets), Minoxidl (Rogaine Foam) and Nizoral Shampoo.

Attached are a couple of photos of my hair (dry and wet) that I took earlier this week. I'm keen hear people's opinions on where they think I sit on the Norwood Scale.

After reading other stories on this forum and comparing others pictures with my own, I’d suggest that I’m a 2 - 2.5. However, I’m open to challenge on this, maybe I’m just thinking too optimistically.

    Thanks,

I think the 4th pic best shows your NW. I believe your assessment is correct. I think you're a NW2 or maybe just a bit more.

    About a NW2.5 I'd say.

Thanks for your input. A couple of questions:

Do you know when the Minoxidil 'shedding' phase typically kicks in and how long it lasts?

I'm currently applying min to the temporal and front hairline regions, roughly just over half a cap of Rogaine - is this too much or too little? I read conflicting opinions on this forum.

    Thanks

Keep in mind that most patients do not fit exactly into one of the Norwood scale catagories and it been around for a long time and should probably be updated. If I had to say you are about a 2.25.
