    Default 21 - Receding

    Hi all,

Been reading the forum for a while, thought i'd post to get some views from others.

I'm 21 now and have got comments in the year or so about my hair. I went to visit a hair specialist recently who confirmed MPB and offered Propecia and minox.

Like many others I've been put off Propecia and I'm considering starting up minox soon.

As far as grandparents go, one had a decent head of hair and the other was bold. My dad has lost most of his hair - probably a NW6.

I think I'm getting away with it not looking very bad because of the way I have my fringe.

    Appreciate your comments,

Start the meds. Everyone reacts differently. Based on my own results I wish I started at 21 not 24. 3 years later I noticed growth and was happy. Now a year later I'm unsure if I'm regressing or going through a seasonal shed, or becoming tolerant to the meds. I posted recently about this with my pics.

In any event, doing nothing will most definitely lead to hair loss. May as well try to fight it for a few of your youthful years.

You don't look bad at all. If it bothers you though, Propecia can slow it down or stop it and possibly even allow some hair to grow back.

Rogaine may help you regrow some hair but it does nothing to block the hormone that is triggering the loss in the first place. Therefore you will be fighting a very steep uphill battle all the way.

    Appreciate your comments,
Your hairline is high but your hair looks great.

Like the others have suggested, get started on propecia and minox to keep the great hair you have !

Try reading the information in these links, then consult with a specialist.

Propecia works for millions of people, besides stopping hair loss, many regrow hair, including myself, I also use Minoxidil.

You will find many people on this forum who have side-effects, and many people who do not. Most who do have sides are the people which are the most vocal about the subject, considering the amount of members here on this forum that is about consistent with the +/-2% who suffer the side-effects according to past studies prior to FDA approval of the medication.

    Default Minox

I had the same problem at your age. I used minoxidil and I had lots of happy hair. Go get some generic stuff and start using it. Should work. You are very young and time is on your side.

    Its pretty cheap too.

Thanks for the links! Do you know if there were any studies conducted after the FDA approval?

That's great it worked well for you. I'm hoping to get some regain soon and hopefully I get some good results.
