Default Shedding too early -- Minox, or?

I'm 2 1/2 weeks into 5% Minox (foam) 2x a day, and ~1 week into 1mg Fin. I have Nizoral shampoo but haven't used it yet.

I switched to T/Gel (coal tar version) shampoo when I started the Minox. I shampoo twice a day with the T/Gel before applying the Minox.

Question is -- this seems rather early to start any shedding (?). I'm wondering if I'm overdoing it with the T/Gel or if I might be allergic to something. My scalp feels awesome and is not irritated at all, but this morning is when I noticed what looked like a hair bomb exploded in my bathroom. Hair all over the sink, shower, floor -- basically everywhere. The shedding is also very apparent with wet hair.

Coincidentally, my shower drain clogged yesterday, for the first time ever. I don't know if it was caused by hair, but I don't believe in coincidences. The clog was "light" enough that stomping my foot over the drain unblocked it.

Most ppl. I think report shedding like around 4 mos. so I'm a little concerned. Maybe I should chill a little with the T/Gel?
