Could a new (working) hairloss treatment arrive unexpectedly?

See subject line; by working treatment I mean something that is clinically effective and FDA approved, not obvious junk like Neogenic or the million other fads of the week. A proper medication. By arrive, I mean a Big Pharma corporation of your choice announces out of the blue that it will launch the product in so many weeks or months time, without any of us members of the public being aware of its existence/FDA trial status beforehand.

Is that scenario feasible, or unrealistic/hoping for far too much?

out of the blue? yes. FDA approved AND out of the blue? hell no.

FDA is such a long process, which is also public I believe(the .gov sites) so them 'hiding' such a thing without the media or one of us finding it is quite rare.

you might find something already in phase 2, but if something is in Phase III(which hasnt happened since propecia, and will only happen for BIM and Histogen in the near future) everyone will know about it.

I think it's quite likely we find something that at least somewhat works in the grey market though, I doubt a full cure in the grey market is possible as you have to test certain things properly to get the full benefit, but there is a chance of something working that's already purchaseable in the pharmacy.

Or if it comes from somewhere overseas with less stringent FDA type processes. That is theoretically possible :P

It´s extremely unlikely... There is billions of dollars to bee made and millions of science knows that but still haven't found anything that are working in 15 years!!
