    Default HELP, Winter shedding ?!?!

Ok so basically 1 year ago starting from this month, my hair took a huge hit during the winter which finally led me to start treating my hair at the start of the summer. Now my hair has improved significantly up to this point but now that we are going back into winter I have noticed that I am starting to shed lots of hairs again (not as much as the first minoxidil induced shed) .

Now I thought that finasteride, minoxidil and nizoral would stop this seasonal shedding does it not? My first 3 months of using minoxidil I used it twice a day, now I'm in my 7nth month and I have been using it only once a day. Do you think that during the winter months, If I up my minoxidil to twice a day again that would reduce the shed???

In about 2 weeks, my friend is getting me MSM powder, will that help in reducing the shed?

Whats worrying me is now that I'm 7months into minoxidil and nizoral and 4 months finasteride, I thought my hair should still improve by a lot (which it kind of has) but I feel that the seasonal shed will halt all my progress. Please tell me your opinions

I don't think medications do much for seasonal shedding (if there's such a thing, some people argue that it's not true, I don't know) since it should not be related to DHT process.

My first and only stint of shedding just recently ended (or so it seems) early/mid November, and it began in June or so. I worry it might be an early thing, or worse, a bi-annual thing. We'll see I guess. Still in limbo if seasonal shedding really exists and, if so, how intense it can be.

One of the most common reasons for hair loss is lack of moisture in hair. The problem aggravates in winter when the moisture level in the atmosphere falls, leading to dry scalp
