Default Very Rapid Hairloss and White floating skin after washing hair?

Hello everyone, glad to see this community is here to help men with the all to frequent experience of losing hair. Oh well, such is life.

Anyhow here is my story, so about 2 years ago my barber in NYC told me I was losing hair and I have been freaking out a little bit about it since. The hairloss was not too noticeable until about 6-8 months ago when I moved to Indianapolis with my girlfriend, I am guessing the move caused a lot of stress (I had to quit my job, moving out of state, looking for job, moving with girl friend for first time etc etc) on me and about a month or so after moving I started losing A LOT of hair, I think in the past six months I've lost about half my hair if not more, probably about 60% luckily I had a lot of hair to begin with. So I started experiencing very rapid hairloss, I should say that most of this hair is lost when I wash my hair, I exercise a lot and also sweat a lot so I wash my hair every day if not every other day. When I was it I can see my hands full of hair from my head I estimate I lose about 30+ hairs every time I wash. Also every morning when I wake up I can see about 8 or so hair I've lost during the night on my pillow case.

Now, the rate at which I was / am losing hair was completely mind blowing to me and I could not even believe someone could lose hair so fast, so I decided to go to a dermatologist when all this started. I should also say, and this is very important... Every time I wash my hair I can see my scalp peeling off in the mirror with what I believe is some sort of eczema or fungus or something, also my head itches A LOT when I exercise and it makes me want to scratch it vigorously but I know I cant so I don't do it, that said sometimes I just have to scratch it for a bit because it's at points unbearable Once my hair dries up the white flakes (it's not really dandruff, but actual bigger pieces of scalp) disappear and I just have to remove the ones that are still floating in my head. I know all this sounds very strange but to me it sucks completely because even though I've come to terms with the fact that I am going bald I have decided to get a very short buzz cut but I can't get it because I am afraid this peeling skin will look horrible on top of my scalp. The Dermatologist that saw me the first time prescribed me Propecia which I have been taken for almost 5 months now and it seemed to have decelerated the rate at which I was losing hair but right now I don't think it's working anymore as I seem to have gone back to the hair loss rate I was experiencing before I started taking Propecia. He also told me to use DHS shampoo which has zinc in order to stop what he said was just dandruff. Honestly he kinda brushed me off about the dandruff thing and I don't think his diagnostic was correct.

My question is, has anyone else experienced something like this? If so what worked? I've heard jojoba oil and Apple cider vinegar could fix this problem but I am not sure as I have yet to try this.

I have a Dermatologist appointment next week with a new Dr. and I will let him know what I am going through to see if he can help me. Honestly I don't think my hair loss would be this dramatic if I did not have this other underlying condition. I should also point out that 90% of the hairs I do lose have a very big white bulb at the root...

I have included some pictures to show you guys what I am talking about, luckily my head looks much better when my hair is dry. I am 30 and pretty healthy except for this scalp issue I guess.

Thanks for your time, I know this is a rather long post.
    cheers!

yeah I have a meeting on the 6th of December, the date can't come soon enough. It is definitely not normal, I've already coped with the fact that I will be bald and now I just want to buzzcut my hair to get it over with and ease the transition while I still have some hair on top but I can't even do that... ugh.

Yeah you need to seek out a medical professional.. which you already seem to have done here because I have never heard those being common symptoms in regards to hair loss.

Are you eating healthy, staying healthy...?

Excessive stress can lower testosterone immensely, as much as Propecia.

I would suggest you have extensive blood work done to figure out what might be causing your hair loss, a very good transplant surgeon would probably be the best doctor to consult with regarding what blood tests should be ordered, most General Practitioners don't have a clue about hair loss, and believe it or not, nor do most Dermatologists the GP's recommend people to.

    Good Luck...
