    Exclamation 18, thin all around

I'm new to joining but have read the threads for sometime. I decided to finally sign up because I wanted to post my concern.

I have fine hair all around, always have. However I'm finally at a point where I seriously want to do something about it. The issue isn't that my hair doesn't grow because it does however its thin and breaks easily.

I use toppik to cover it up so it looks as if my hair is thick.
But since its just a temporary solution I'm looking for something that works in the long term.

I've tried rogain but got no results. What are other options out there that thicken hair and stop breakage? I know there's fin but not sure if I'd have to see a specialist or could ask my doctor for the Rx.

Ill upload a few pictures to give you a better idea.

    I would appreciate anyone's opinions/recommendations on this
    Thanks guys

Some people just have very fine hair, especially red heads. If your hair has always been thin and it is no thinner now than it has ever been, you do not have MPB. You have fine hair.

Rogaine is for treating MPB and FPB. It does not sound like you have MPB. It just sounds like you have fine hair. So Rogaine is not appropriate for you.

If this is your only problem, the only other thing I can recommend is low level laser therapy such as the laser comb. Using the laser comb every other day increases the caliber of the hair that you have. It increases the strength of the hair that you have. It improves the quality of the hair that you have and it makes your hair grow faster. The laser comb is very expensive though. It takes about five to six months to be able to tell if LLLT is working for you.

Other things you can do is switch out your regular shampoo and conditioner for sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. It might be a good idea to wash your hair with Nizoral A-D shampoo once per week as well - but not more often than that.

    Are you getting good nutrition?

    Hello Tracy

How affective is the laser comb?

And as for my nutrition I eat healthy. exercise regularly, and take vitamins
Don't try to indulge in fast food as much prefer home cooked meals instead. Overall I try to keep myself as healthy as I can

i honestly think you have MPB on the crown, i alse have fine hair but doesnt mean my scalp shows. i think yours is very wispy. i think you should use rogaine and maybe fin for it, like i said theres a lot your hair isnt covering. on the plus side, the crown area is the easiest to grow back/thicken up. your temples are fine

These aren't great pictures, but this looks like more than thin hair strands; it looks like MPB. No one can give a definite diagnosis over the internet, so you should see a qualified doctor or surgeon.

    GET ON THE BIG 3.

    Proscar1.25mg a day

    Rogaine/propecia am/pm

    Nizoral every 3 days.

    Good luck buddy!

Look on the IAHRS and ISHRS websites. Go with IAHRS surgeons first, then ISHRS doctors.

After seeing your pictures I have to agree with those who think it looks like MPB. You should probably be talking to a doctor who specializes in treating herediarty hair loss - because it does in fact look like MPB.

How long did you use Rogaine when you gave it a try?

It does do the things I mentioned above but it will not grow hair any place that is already void of hair. I think adding it to your regimen will probably help you - but it will take some time.
