Vacation to Mexico 8 weeks after HT #2 (3250 grafts)???
All...
I had my HT on 11-20 (this week) and was considering going to Mexico in the middle or end of January. Is this too soon? Am I risking anything by exposing myself to extreme sun after this recent HT? Thoughts? Evidence?
Thx.

I went to Ecuador six weeks after my HT, didn't hurt anything I know of being at the center line of the world with the most extreme UV rating anywhere.
My head was already tanned from the Arizona sun, I wore a hat often, but not always. I'm fine...I imagine everyone is different, I would suggest consulting with your doctor for exact answers.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been reading some avice about staying out of the sun for like 3-6 months post surgery, which seemed really excessive to me. My doctor (Dr. Konior) said the grafts are well planted in a few weeks so my going on vacation in 8 weeks post surgery isn't a problem. He just recommended to stay away from sunburn and pay a little more attention to my head then perhaps I normally would have. To be extra cautious, I'd probably wear a hat some of the time while out in the sun.
Your feedback helped my anxiety over this issue. Thanks.
