My experience with big 3 10 months and questions

This is my experince with the big 3 for 10 months. I would be very grateful if you could also help me answer some questions. I started Propecia in January 2012 I was thinging very slightly ina diffuse nw 6 pattern only under bright lights could you see this pattern I was also hyper sensitive about it. during the first 3 months it was gradually getting worse. But around month 4-5 my hair started to seem to get thicker I was living abroad at the time so never got a prescription from a doctor just went and paid over the price for Propecia from chemist websites. I was struggling to pay 80 pounds per month so after alot of research I decided to use proscar and cut into four I brought that from a highley recommended website in the uk called Finasteride.info. I used the proscar for around 3 months and i noticed my hair was getting worse and better all the time some days i would look in the mirror and think I had beaten hair loss others I thought I would be bald in a few months. it started to take over my life, anyway I came back to the UK and decided to see a hair loss specialist he confirmed I was thinning and prescribed me BOOTs finasteride 5mg tablets which again I cut into 4s. I cant be sure but I feel like I noticed less shedding and for the first time in a long time i could grow my hair and feel comfatable I even went to a party with my hair long which is un heard of for me (because you can see my hairloss alot worse when long). This was 4 weeks ago then suddenly around a week ago my hair just got terrible worse than ever before you can for the first time see my nw6 pattern even when shade to a 1# grade I haddent noticed any shedding maybe beacuse my hair is so short but i am very upset and confused.

before my question I will give a brief about my hairl oss gene my farther and his brother are all nw6. my farther was nw6 by the age of 29 I am 26 now.

    so some questions...
    [LIST]
    has anybody experienced this before?
what should I do maybe go on higher dose?
    adovart?
is my gene just to strong for any treatment?
has anbody had the same type of gene and had success in maintaining at least?

Thank you very much for reading

          Hi Harris,

Sorry to hear your problems, I'm not a hair specialist nor a doctor, but the 1 mg Propecia with 5% Minoxidil stopped my loss.

You might be experiencing shedding due to the Fin...some people do, others don't. Some say it takes a year to get the full effects of Fin, others it helps in much less time.

I would stay on the Fin, incorporate Minoxidil, and try to stop worrying about it as much, stress can be detrimental as well.

          Best,

          Dale

thanks dale!! one thing I get confused with is when people say it may take a year to know if fin is working our not can that mean it may take a year to stop hair loss and shed all the months building up to that my hair loss does seem to have slowed down but it looks worse than ever!

Yes I have seen this before but Spencer, Dr Bernstein and many other doctors have suggested that increasing the amount of Finasteride can be a benefit. I have even seen a doctor on this suite question the validity of this example you have shown. its worth a go

none of those doctors know jack. It will be decades before they even acknowledge such concept as hyper androgenicity.

Finasteride 1 mg/day is the optimal dose for the treatment of men with male pattern hair loss and was subsequently identified for further clinical development.

In this study, hirsutism scores decreased significantly at 6 and 12 months in both groups I and II. Low-dose (2.5 mg/day) finasteride is safe and cost effective in the treatment of hirsutism and may be used instead of high-dose finasteride (5 mg/day) therapy.

why not just try both fin and dut for a while? Both of those are dirt cheap. Can't be more than $30/month...

Here are five men Dateline NBS did a comparison with using the most current methods to help fight hair loss, you may have already seen the Video, if not its worth watching. The man using Propecia had fairly good results in one year, my opinion anyway.

Everyone responds differently, hopefully it will stop your loss and possibly help you gain some fullness back. Adding Minox to the equation you may notice a significant improvement.
