    Teen balding

Hi everyone. I am a 17 year old high school senior who is currently losing hair around the crown area. Although baldness runs in my family, it usually happens later in life, like around the 50s, 60s. I say usually because I am the exception. I'm not sure whether my crown loss is due to genetics or my frequent hat wearing. Many people will probably say that there's no scientific proof that hats cause hair loss, blah, etc but then again, I don't think many people have worn them for literally years on end. I started wearing any type of hat wear from when I was 12-13 to my current age (17). In fact, there has barely been a day where I haven't worn a hat, rain or shine.

I recently started using Rogaine. It has been two weeks and already I'm noticing shedding.

    Here's the before:

    Here it is currently:

I was just wondering if you guys could give me feedback on whether or not my crown will start to grow back via Rogaine based on those pictures. Thanks in advance

There's a chance especially if you say there is shedding.

There's definitely some loss there, keep using the rogaine and it should benefit you at least a little bit.(it can take up to around a year to get the full benefits.)

Hair loss in the crown is generally genetic in nature. Hats do not cause hair loss even if worn evry day. You should consider proventative treatment.
