Indeed! perhaps it will look better once it grows out a few cm's compared to now.
I haven't spoken to anyone at all, I would have to pay a specialist I think in the UK, hair loss isn't included under general health care my GP's told me.

Im UK based too. GPs can prescribe Fin and Minoxidil, depends who you go to, I've been to some who will pity you and dish it, whilst others will be like "Your fertility will be affected!!".
I know there's Dr Farjo, in Manchester. Apparently he's recommended on here and by our Dragon, Duncan Bannantyne...
But still 11 months...thats a bit odd don't you think??

Or the lack of sustained response is the same sort of thing that happens to people with cancer, for lack of a better comparison --
Some do the chemo and are free forever, some years and then some mere months. They rebound so greatly and respond so positively that its devastating to find out it just wasn't to be.

Are you sure nothing else has changed? Weight gain?

Ah greetings to a fellow UK'er! Did you hear about Spencer doing a UK baldtruth radio show? I don't like to follow the forums (just got an email popup on my phone about this!), but I do enjoy a podcast every now and again!
Yeah my lack of GP success was pretty much just getting passed around one clinic to a few different GP's. I have no shame joking with my friends about my deteriorating hair, but for some reason I hated telling the doctor, it was a lot more judgemental and embarrassing not joking about it. I didn't much fancy trying another doctor, figured I had it covered. I do need to face the music really, thanks for reminding me.
Well, you could argue it's odd, but perhaps i'm one of the 10-15/100 non-responders to finasteride? Perhaps my improvement was slighter than initially thought, and due to minoxidil (and nizoral). I just find it weird that hair has grown on the temples, but lost on top/crown. I guess I can't be sure whats happening for now, but I should see a doc. I'm in bristol though, Manchester isn't really going to work for me!

Yes, I am not a constant, things always change for me.
I switched from varied doses of generic finasteride (~1mg daily until trying lower doses for side effect reduction), 2 weeks no medication (forgot on vacation), to 1mg finpecia EOD (UK based, recommended by spex) 10 weeks ago. However, Ii must preface that I believe the finpecia works as I have the classic "sides" when on it (not much libido/erection frequency/occasional testicle ache).
I would say the past 6 months i've been far more diligenct with twice daily minoxidil (didn't even realise I was using 4x the dose) than I ever could be at the beginning. (Though as of 2 weeks i'm just taking the 1ml once daily due to sides).
I pretty consistently used 2% niz every 3-7 days, as of 2 weeks ago in the horror, i'm now I'm finding I can get away with every 2-3 days.
Weight wise in the past 12 months I have fluxed by about 20kg unbelievably. I the early throws I gained a lot of weight working out, got a shoulder separation 5 months ago and now i'm back to a normal 12% bf. Just got back in the gym last month.
Could well be a shed, especially as I'm experiencing balding on the crown now after suspecting it was going I started applying minoxidil there a few months ago. I am doubtful that it's a shed though, it feels like i've lost 50% of where I was 3 months ago.

Hey man
Well it sounds like you've got a good approach to it, which is excellent. Yeah Im due to see my GP tomorrow for some update on my blood works and to see what options there might be (NHS has nil for hairloss, so I know it's gonna be the big 3).
Yeah Manchester is a mission and a lot of money and effort etc, but glad to see your taking it well.
I agree I was on here religiously, but my time has dropped significantly.
