Yes, I did have hair transplanted to lower my hairline. I would say that for the most part, I am happy with the procedure. As my hair is quite fine and thin to begin with, I will not achieve the same level of density of my native hair (it is a little more sparse and I cannot part my hair where I have had transplants as it is a little too thin, especially in certain lighting). However, overall, I do feel much better now than I did pre-transplant; I'm not as self-conscious about my forehead, especially when my hair is wet, like after swimming, or when the wind blows and exposes my forehead.
Have you looked into hairline advancement and transplants with actual doctors yet?
