FINALLY got those pesky staples removed yesterday! (I've been waiting for this day since surgery day!)
The doctor who removed them (yes, I got a doctor to do it--the Clinic told me time and again pretty much anyone could do it, but I didn't want to take any chances!) said the scar had healed amazingly--and that aside from some redness, he couldn't even see it (and it's only been two weeks...!)
Dr. Hasson had said that this would probably be the case, because of my unusually thick scalp, so it bodes well for a nearly undetectable scar altogether...(pics enclosed) What do you think?
The experience itself was pretty much as I expected--Unpleasant, but not too bad at all--about 15-20 minutes of "this kind of sucks..." and they were out: nothing unbearable, but certainly not my favorite 20 minutes this week!
Checked in with my twin brother, Gemini1 (he had them taken out in another city) and he said his experience was pretty much (pardon the pun) identical: unpleasant, but nothing too bad, and a very well-healing scar...
While a decent deal of numbness and some discomfort still remain (akin to a mild sunburn), there is much more feeling and much less pain than the past two weeks, and, as predicted, I enjoyed my BEST NIGHT'S SLEEP in TWO WEEKS last night!
