I had a hairline hairtransplant 5 months ago with a reputable doctor..
at 5 months, one side of my hairline is good and the other has hardly anything growing...is this normal?

I had the same thing happen don't worry about it, it will start catching up.

Yes this is normal and we all hear about it from time to time.
Although there are no clinical studies to my knowledge to address this, my premonition is that it occurs because the transplanted follicles are establishing their blood supply in the blood layer (dermis) of the scalp. There are so many blood vessels and some get severed from the recipient incisions, that it takes time for them to heal and regrow.
The resting period also varies but eventually they begin their cycling behavior intermittently and enter the growth phase.
