Donor thinning and switching from dutasteride pill to topical dutasteride
I have a question for any surgeons on the site. I have been on dutasteride/Avodart since it came out in 2002. It basically stopped my hairloss. I am 49 now. If I switch to the topical dutasteride and just apply to the top of my scalp, is there a possibility that the donor region can thin.
I have seen many people with thinning donor areas as they age. Just curious as I have had 2 FUT hair transplants in the past and my donor area is still very thick.
I have lost a little ground on the crown in the last couple of years but still have decent coverage. It's probably age related.
Thanks
