It sucks big time seems to happen with all anti androgenic drugs no matter how small the dosage.

I was also getting gyno which zapped all motivation out of my gym rountines which intern made the weight gain worse!

Had the gyno removed last year and have been on cetirizine, minox and niz since. It has really helped with maintaining and a bit of regrowth but most important thing no sides.

      What routine you on nowadays?

I am researching the S-Equol which is a METABOLITE not an active isoflavone.
        *
Upon reading the post the guy had to use 540 capsules to prepare 2 oz of solution!
        *
Since S-Equol binds to the DHT molecule unlike Finasteride which blocks conversion I would imagine more estrogenic effects and less libido.

Here is one of the research articles I found!

FYI That's 540 mg not capsules. That equates to 90 capsules.

Right guys to update she will not use tablets as to make the percentage so many tablets would need to be used and the cost would be way too high.

She trying her best and has contacted all 3 companies, one has already said no as it is for research purpose only. Let's be positive as I have asked to try her best in finding a source so this can be made for you guys .

Just checked my emails and had another reply as I emailed her yesterday asking for any updates. She stated in the current email she's still waiting to hear from the companies.

Again, I thought S-equol worked by binding to free DHT in the bloodstream, making it chemically inert at least vis-a-vis the androgen receptors. Seems to me this would make a topical near worthless! What am I missing?

                      Thanks.

                          Saltynuts,

The lead researcher for the past 20 years has suggested that equol for hair loss might be much more efficient and effective as a topical. If you read the research article: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/1...87B557F.f03t03 (You have to rent or buy the full research article), you will see see that a 1.2 % concentration of equol in DMSO completely neutralized DHT in the skin in vitro. I don't think they are suggesting that equol binds to the androgen receptor when applied topically but more so that the concentration of equol brought to bear by application directly at the source of the problem (the scalp) may be able to neutralize scalp DHT by overwhelming and attaching to the DHT in the scalp. This of course doesn't mean that the results will translate in vivo or that a 1.2% solution will be potent enough in vivo but it does create an interesting possibility. FYI Equol is soluble in both DMSO and ethyly alcohol at the same concentration.

Has anyone used this? I'm guessing because it deals with DHT there are same potential side effects as RU and Fin?

the profile is actually quite nice , it should have a lower chance of sides then fin or RU
