Smile Hairline restored Day 1 to 15 months.

My results with Dr. Alan Bauman. Notice that we KEPT the hairline slightly receded to give the natural look. Don't bring the hairline down to far because:

    1. It is a waste of valuable grafts.
    2. It looks unnatural.

After ~1200 grafts in the frontal hairline (same day as procedure)

    About 15-16 months later.

Thumbs up from me, too. Joe, your hair looks friggin' awesome and will probably look even better when the hair from your recent transplant starts to grow. I'm really impressed by guys like you, Jotronic, and Bobman, to name a few. Your hair transplant results are PHENOMENAL, and it makes me feel ecstatic that I'm on my way too.

    Default Thanks

Thanks TeeJay. You know, hair is cosmetic, but I just have this strong interest in how it relates to a person's look. It's nice being a male (~39 years old) and being able to change my look (hairstyle, facial hair, whatever).

If there was a "Hair Contest" for 38 year olds, I'd want to take the Title! No joke.

Hey, I'm 25 years old and i'm really seriously considering some ht work on my hairline. The hair on the hairline area has been falling out for the past 6 years to the point where I barely have a hairline anymore.

I live in South Florida and have been doing some research and i think Dr Bauman looks like a good option. I haven't really found any bad experiences from him and your result looks very natural. The only thing i am worried about is the scar from where they take the grafts from, but if it gets covered up over time and i get some hair back on my hairline, i think it'd be worth it.

    Desmond,

At 25 and scared about the scar from a strip session, your likely not a candidate for strip surgery.

You need to research FUE before you do anything else.

In Florida, Dr. Epstein, Dr. Rose, Dr. Nussbaum and Dr. Charles all do great work and will be sensitive to your age and future loss.

Dr. Bauman, Dr. Rose and Dr. Epstein do FUE, I believe

    Good Luck!!!

    @ Desmond,

It is important to understand that there are two modern options for harvesting grafts which provide maximum camouflage of the harvested area: 1) linear-trichophytic and 2) FUE. There are pros and cons to each type of harvest. While it is true that FUE eliminates the possibililty of a linear scar, there are some drawbacks--like the amount of hair we can transplant in a one-day session, for example. The 'linear-trichophytic' harvest/closure technique allows hair to grow directly through the linear scar, which can hide it VERY well--but also gives the efficiency of larger numbers of transplanted hair per session. I routinely perform both FUE as well as linear-tricho procedures in my practice.

There is no 'one-size-fits-all' answer to which procedure (FUE or linear-tricho) is right for every patient. You should make your choice based on ALL the information available and the guidance of a physician. This is most easily done through a one-on-one consultation process with a doctor you trust. Please let me know any questions you may have.

    Sincerely,
    Dr. B.

    Hello Desmond.

I can tell you that the scar does get covered up over time. The hair grows right through the scar. In my case, no one even noticed that I had a transplant......even the next day! I would also say without a doubt that Dr. Bauman is the guy in South Florida! Actually, in the US. I live in Maryland (1000 miles away) and I fly to South Florida just to see Dr. Bauman. My hair now is so thick that I have trouble getting a brush through it. Really, that's not a joke. My goal was density in the frontal area and better crown coverage.

This is no 'sales pitch', but Dr. Bauman is the best. You're going to get the results. The procedure is going to be painless. I have NO regrets! Does that help you?

Again, I reiterate: @ 25 years old you MUST understand that there is NO GUARANTEE your scar will be perfect.

For some of us (people like me) we do not worry about the scar left from a strip scar--our hair grows over and it is disguised.

For others (and you seem to fall into this category)the scar is just as big a deal as the transplant result.

If you get say, 1500-2000 grafts via FUE you will spend more money now.

However, should you need more work down the road, you can just buzz down to a lower grade and not do anything if your FUE work is done properly. You could also decide on more FUE. You could also decide on strip---but you have options.

If you decide to go the strip route, that is ok as well. Just make sure you understand what you are signing up for.

My advice is to go visit Dr. Bauman, Go visit 2-3 of the doctors I mentioned before. Get a good feel for your options and err on the side of caution.

Bounce your thoughts and ideas off the members of this board.

    Then make an informed decision.

Please ask as many questions as you feel necessary.

    Good Luck!!!!
