    Default Should I take minoxidil?

I am 27 and have a Norwood II hair pattern. It's pretty stable, no noticeable loss since on fin for a couple of years. I remain thin on the crown though so it looks like a bit of a bald patch.

I've been looking at minoxidil to make it better and I'm on the fence about it. Firstly don't know how committed I could be to twice a day. Maybe so if I was probable to get good results from it but from the stories I read on here many people have ended up worse off on minoxidil. Secondly I want to be able to stop treatment if I decide it's not getting the desired results. But again some people said they have been worse off than they would have been when quitting. I have an alright hairline which I don't want to make worse and the stories I get on here are mixed if not negative but I really hate the patch.

    Any advice or suggestions? Thanks.

You only need to apply minox once a day. Best to do it in the evening a few hours before going to bed, so it dries. Then wash it off in the morning and have a nice day.

Only anecdotal evidence show minoxidil causing hairloss. No reputable source has ever shown minoxidil to speed up hairloss.

My personal experience with minoxidil is a pretty good one.

I took finasteride 2 years ago for 1.5 months and got off after reading Propeciahelp stories. (Big time regret stopping over fear mongering).

I instead got on minoxidil foam 2x a day and it's held about 98% of my hair. A small bit of regrowth in my crown and some temple thickening.

I'm now back on Propecia. Been 2 months with very mild sides (I get worse sides from Sudafed lol). It seems to have already started boosting the minoxidil as I have picture evidence of new temple hairs!

So in my opinion you absolutely should get on it. It's clinically proven to increase hair counts in most men (although modestly) and it's definitely boosted by finasteride.

If you use it properly and don't stop after you get the shed you should do well. I think too many people are lazy with it.

Also studies show using both kept participants above baseline far longer than either one treatment individually.

    Cheers

I think is important that you know they have side effect with minoxidil. I don't understand why people does not say everything. Minoxidil does not only cause irritation and stuff like that it can make dark circle under your eyes and other stuff like that. I want to start using Minoxidil too but I try to find something else before buy it and make a reserve cause yeah when you start Minoxidil you can't stop. You can go check other topical solution one I check is Ru and CB I try to get info on them and also they have side effect but less. If you want to have ''fun'' go check for all those stuff: Castor oil, RU-58841 ,CB-03-01, Onion, Massage those have no or so less side effect those it work? You are the only one who know everyone is different that's why side effect happen to some people but not to everyone I take concerta a concentration drug a side effect say I can have a boner of 4 hour does I have it? Nope Does it affect my sex life I think is help me but anyway. Thing with more side effect as you know Propecia,Proscar,Dut (Well is a family) Minoxidil, Rogaine, Regaine etc... (A other family). You can also start with shampoo many say it's does nothing but hey it can help. Go see shampoo like Regenepure, Nizoral they cause less side effect. And they have other I forgot the name. Basically try to have shampoo, pills, anti-dht, and ''hair booster'' who bring growth on your head. With those 4 weapon you can change it now you need to find 4 weapon that does not kill your health and body GOOD LUCK. If you have any question or need support I can be there for you. See you soon.

thanks for the replies. ill keep trying a couple of other things as suggested but if no luck then i'll give it a go. If all fails then I should be able to get off it without any loss (hopefully).

There are pros and cons for minox. I recently read somewhere that it only works for one third of users. Quite some surprise that it still can be marketed and sold as it is.

Problem that it does actually work in average. I also do not see any clear effect of my treatment so far but I continue anyways.

Personally I did experience nausea, headaches though only occassionaly. dandruff was another side effect that I didnt enjoy

For what Ive read you've got to committed and you can't drop its usage halfway.

If you speak spanish here this specialist talks about side effects which include all the ones Ive described

    Default Minoxidil 12.5%

    Hi
I am 23 and my receding hairline is becoming more of an issue. I am thinking of looking to get the minoxidil 12.5% cream as the reviews seem relatively positive. Does anyone think this is the best step to take? any tips would be appreciated as Iv never tried anything before!

There are a few options; PRP, LaserCap, & biotin. Although the benefit from minoxidil only helps improve the appearance of your hair, it also helps counter the effects of hair loss (miniaturization). Miniaturization is the process that describes how your hair will become weaker in caliber, grow slower and shorter while losing its pigmentation over hair growth cycles.
