    Unhappy 1Mg. Finasteride

    Hey all!

Anyone else notice an uptick in anger and aggression while on Finasteride?
I have been on this for aprox. 3 months and suspected my Testosterone had been spiking up.
I have given myself a week off this to reduce the Testosterone in my system, and thinking of taking a .5 mg 1/2 times a week.. I might be a little sensitive to Finasteride.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? and what are the alternatives?
I do use a Derma roller and Rogaine with the Finasteride.
But shedding has stopped with the Finasteride.. so that is a plus...
Any word on a topical Finasteride?

    Thanks!
    Bob

Hi Bob. Without having a benchmark test of testosterone levels pre-fin and on fin, you’ll not know if your testosterone levels have changed. Even if they have increased on fin this doesn't to me at least necessarily mean your aggression levels would increase.

I’ve been on fin for a year and maybe I do have a slightly shorter temper now BUT I’d argue fin isn’t the cause. I think I get frustrated with feeling relatively powerless about my hair loss, so I could just be getting frustrated with the affect on my appearance that hair loss is causing.

I try to remind myself that thousands of men have taken and still take fin for decades because it works for them. That doesn’t mean they walk around angry or any stereotypical behaviours associated with increased testosterone.
