Hello, if You have MPB, the sad reality is that main cause is in the genes. I too stress a lot, and although it might not be the main reason for baldness - it surely can make things much worse ! Same goes for nutrition, although not the main reason, inflamatory diets - rich in processed fats and sugars can only make baldness worse.

For stress I personally use - vitamin B100mg complex, vitamin C 1500mg.. if You stress too much like me and also have trouble sleeping - You might want to consider 5-HTP 100mg in the evening or melatonin - less than 3mg should be enough but might leave You groggy the next day.

I too use saw palmetto(300mg), beta sitosterol(510mg), biotin etc.

Whatever You do, do not risk Your health with propecia. Its simply not worth it and its a health hazard or man-poison as one guy nicknamed it properly. Please do read the latest reports by Dr. Traish(Boston) and Dr. Irwig(Washington), they have now officially linked this dangerous drug to permanent ED, prostate cancer, depression and much more. Manufacturer has pulled down their own website and damaged people are going with first class lawsuits..

It looks like hereditary male-pattern hair loss. A hair loss specialist could tell you for certain.

Nizoral shampoo can help fight male-pattern hair loss (2% ketoconazole is more effective than 1%), but on its own, it won't stop your loss from progressing. Your best bet is to use a proven DHT suppressant. Currently there are two: finasteride and dutasteride. Of those options, I strongly recommend starting on finasteride, for which there is much more long-term data as a treatment for male-pattern balding.
Minoxidil is a useful supporting treatment and can stimulate hair growth.
There is no evidence that saw palmetto or biotin can stop your hair loss.

On a final note, StressedToTheBald's "information" and advice should generally be ignored. He is either trolling or has no idea what he's doing.

^ don't listen to [StressedToBald], he's a troll and all of his attempts to save his own hair by using "natural" treatments have failed - he is now bald.

You're young so Finasteride may not be an option for you yet.
Nizoral and Minoxidil should be able to hold what you have for another year or two and then you can move on to Finasteride once you're 20....

Oh yeah, I missed that he was only 18.

2020 is right. It would be safer to hold off on finasteride until your body finishes developing.

Minoxidil (AKA Rogaine) could help to bring some of those weaker hairs at your hairline back to life.

                Dont panic

You STILL have plenty of hair my young friend!! Stay calm because you ARE only 18 years old. Hang around here to express yourself whenever you feel the need to do so. It will help to unload any anxieties you may have at any given time. There truly ARE good hair loss treatments in the future and because you are only 18 you WILL get treated. Until then live your calm life. Dont get distracted.
