Blood pressure medications can cause erection failures.

Try going on the two percent, if possible. You probably don't want to try Finasteride if you're having these issues, of course.

    Best of luck.

No, it has been 3 months since quitting minox and still, my libido is non-existant. I am seeing an endocrinologist soon. I will update once i see him. I also want to try the natural health products that some have recommended but first, i will discuss with the endocrinologist.

Has your condition improved after stopping? If so, how long did it take? Can you provide some advice for us regarding recovery? Much appreciated.

@tony2525: What is your situation now? Hope you're doing better.

For me, erectile dysfunction and loss of libido are still present after 9 months!!! It became better in the first 3 months after stopping. The first 3 months were horrible, my libido was really zero and my penis head burned like hell. It improved a little bit thereafter, but my penis is still burning slightly. My erections are somewhat better, but they are still very weak.

If someone would have told me that Minoxidil causes these symptoms, I would have considered them crazy. I can understand some people here in the forum that say this cannot happen with Minoxidil, only Finasteride can cause this etc. But I am telling you, this is 100 % true, Minoxidil has disastrous side effects.
I am really desperate, I don't know what to do. A lot of people have checked hormonal levels, but they seem normal for most people. Personally, I don't think that Minoxidil causes huge changes in hormonal levels.
Maybe Minoxidil damages nerves or arteries in the penis? Can someone please advice what to do?

An man...its been 3 months and all my side effects have persisted unchanged. Zero libido, smaller penis, weak erections, unenjoyable orgasms. I dont have any burning or watery semen thankfully. I found literature online which proves that minoxidil suppresses androgen receptors similar to finesteride. It seems like we have post finesteride syndrome and if thats the case, recovery time varies from person to person. The traditional mainstream medical community is clueless about our condition, what is causing it and how to treat it. Its rare with finesteride and even more rare with minoxidil...it hasnt been acknowledged for minoxidil yet. I submitted a medwatch report to the FDA and i urge you to do the same. It is the only way thay this gets officialy recognized as a side effect of minoxidil. Doctors actually have no obligation to report side effects to the FDA. You can do it online as a consumer. As far as healing goes, i think the only option we have is alternative medicine such as naturopathic medicine. Others with PFS have had full or partial recovery with naturopathic programs and change in diet and lifestyle. Im seeing naturopathic doctor today as a consult. All i can do is hope....i really wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy....and feel like im living a nightmare....but its important to stay positive and happy because your mental state can really affect you sexually (dspression, negative thoughts)

An man...i saw the endocrinologist. All my hormone tests were normal. He thinks that it affects androgen receptors as per the science paper from 2014 titled "minoxidil may suppress androgen receptor related functions". Thats why the hormone levels are normal because its not the hormones, its the receptors. He said there is no way to test androgen receptor status or treat androgen receptors that have been suppressed. He said all u can do is stop the drug and wait for recovery and he said it might take more than a few months. Personally, i think this is a job for alternative medicine to speed recovery. Go see a naturopathic doctor who specializes in hormonal conditions.
