prp therapy-getting educated
I havent been on here in ages...I started getting PRP in 2010.
I was thrilled to find a Dr.close to where I lived at the time,he was really enthusiastic about the treatment and administering the treatment,he even gave me a discounted price after the initial $1,200.00.
After I believe my second treatment I was super excited to hear that there was a new matrix out that in conjunction with prp would help even more.Wow!I found the treatment somewhat painful but later did see my scalp improve somewhat. My scalp felt healthier and over time I think the hair looked a bit thicker.
I kept going back to this Dr.who eventually lost his enthusiasm and bedside manner only to get minor results.
Fast forward a few years to present, only to find out the Dr.I thought was so great was doing the treatment all wrong!!
My message here is do your research people!

Your post is a little unclear and leaves the following questions:
1) did you receive a benefit from PRP treatment over the years?
2) why did your doctor lose his enthusiasm?
3) in what way was your Dr. performing the procedure wrong?

1) yes
2) Have no idea.
3)The Dr. was not extracting red blood cells + not synergizing the blood in correct way( for right amount of time and not extracting correctly.)Not administering correctly. Not using right gauge needle.(You can actually get scar tissue when to big of a needle is used. Also not mixing acell with prp.( Dr.was doing it seperately.(supposed to be all together. Also Dr. was not practicing sterile procedure!( need to do all mixing in sterile cube.)

I dont want be bashing Dr.'s on here but at the same time I don't want people to waste there money.
People are getting prp/acell and then telling people it doesn't work, they probably aren't getting the procedure done correctly...

Thanks for answering my questions. I appreciate you coming back here to update us on your experience. I think you should be happy that the PRP treatment has been helping, even though it may have not been administered properly. Can you tell us who your new doc is?
