Default Considering Dr Ron Shapiro and new hairline

    Hi there,
Firstly, this forum has been so helpful - much appreciated.
I'm considering having transplant with Dr Ron Shapiro. Had a couple of phone consultations (I'm from London) and the first (we haven't discussed it yet) proposed hairline from SMG is attached below.
    My situation:
    - 39 Male, started using hair loss treatments at 22.
    - Have kept significant amount of hair.
    - According to SMG that my hair is probably kept by treatments makes them likely to be less aggressive with my hairline, give chance to do fill in work later if required.
    - my hair is very straight making me more suitable for FUE.
    - I haven't decided on FUE or STRIP.
    - The crown is ok.
    - Can't stand my big forehead and really knocks my confidence.

    Questions
    - What do you think of the new hairline? part of me feels that it would need to be lower to make the HT worth it?
    - FUE or STRIP? (think I know the arguments for/against but interested anyway).
    - Should I wait for some new HT tech which is around the corner?
    - Anyone had a hairline like mine and how was your HT results?
    - Or anything you fancy commenting - would appreciated it.

    Thanks

I would first suggest getting a brush cut before getting a HT .
Trying getting used to the short hair / no hair look .
If you get a HT and are not hapy with the results you have to live with it the rest of your life and may have to go back for further sessions to correct .

But if you are set on a HT then

IMO you would want a mature hairline that would look natural as you age

I don't think restoring your hairline to the way it was when you were 18 would look natural and as such I belive the outlien you have in the pic would be fine .....if you were to get a HT

    Default Thanks

    Thanks for replying.
Why would I need to get used to very short hair? Smg suggested I grow my hair forward after transplant to cover transplant? Also doesn't the length depend on fue or strip or how low we decide to put forehead?

I think he meant getting a brush cut instead of having a HT.

    Yes
Before going to the extreme measure of a HT see if you can live with short hair or are comofortbale with yopurself in losing the remainder of your hair .

If you are set on the HT then imo I wouldn't get a really low hairline , I don't think it would look natural as you age .

two things here I would suggest

One was already mentioned, don't do it, I won't go through my specifics but I did and regret ever thinking about it.

If you do get one done, which I do not suggest I think that doctor is a great choice if you had to go anywhere in this country.

I have to have another HT done because my doctor was awful. I can't even think to get back in the chair, it scares the hell out of me after what my doctor did to my neck.

I plan on starting a new thread breaking down every step that I went through
