I`m not calling you pathetic. I`m calling the first particular post in this thread pathetic. I don`t know anything about you as a person beside that post. That, and that you think I`m an asshole. You generalized some of my posts, and concluded with that I`m an asshole as a person. Sure, I`m the ignorant one, right?

I also gave you some actual advices. Show a little more appriciation. It`s actually good and realistic advices. Not some: "listen, nobody cares about your hair except yourself, man"-bullshit. But if you want to take that hostile tone, be my guest.

Yes, that`s what I meant. He didn`t even include any anti-androgen treatments to his regime. He should either try Finasteride, Dutasteride or RU. Minoxidil will only slow it down, so will any anti-androgen treatments (just more effectively). He was already a NW 3.5/4, so it is in fact too late to start now. Therefore, it was a fair and funny comment by Hairysituation. (Yes, I just refered to myself in third person).

I really don't trust fin, I think that blocking DHT is a very bad idea and it is not fully understood. Not so sure about a hair piece, I understand that they need regular maintenance and cost quite a bit?

You can always take up a loan, get a part time job, work as much as possible during the summer vacation. Maybe get some economical help from somebody in your family etc. I don`t know which country you live in nor what your social-economic backround is.

If you don`t trust fin, you could always try RU. There`s less side effects-associated with it. But I have been on fin for 7 months now, and it is NOT a powerful drug against aggressive hairloss. I therefore am going to switch to dut. (I have absolutely NO side effects from fin, nor gains for that matter. My case also seems to be norm (regarding no side effects) in clinical studies.

You can also try Lipogaine which contains Azelaic Acid , which also inhibits DHT. (check out this review from a knowledeable user).
Bottom line, you have to inhibit DHT in some way, or else your hair loss will win the battle/war.

A quality hair piece does not have do be very expensive. (Check out Toplace.com or coolpiece.com). Spencer Kobren reccommended these two services on his show. BUT, there is some maintenance involved, but also great help to find on the Toplace forum. You could also choose a custom place, which does all the maintenance for you. (Attatchment, placing, cutting, styling etc.). However, this alternative will be more expensive.

So it`s really up to you. I`m convinced that this is the best approach, and if you check out my thread regarding this spesific topic, you will see that many quality users found this approach to be a good one.

It`s a topical anti-androgen treatment. It inhibits DHT. And yes, you do have to make your own solution. Since it`s still an experimental treatment, you can`t buy it as a commercial product. Therefore, you have to buy it from private labs. It`s normal to get RU via group-buys, so you don`t have to do any of the work yourself. You can also find instructions on how to make it, preserve it, measure the dosage and find the appropiate dosage. RU comes in a powder, and you can mix it with a prefabricated "K&B"-solution. The K&B solution should be the ideal liquid to mix RU with.

In general, the good ones do. Unfortunately, every currently available solution for hair loss -- whether it be finasteride, hair transplants, hairpieces, or wearing hats -- is an imperfect one. It's up to each person to decide which imperfection he can most easily live with.

That really depends on your individual approach. You can be honest about it to everyone, or you can be honest about it to only your closest. I agree that hiding it for everyone will be a big pain in the ass.

However, I´m convinced that the majority can´t make it work, but I´m more interested in hearing about the people who can. Spencer talked about a friend of him that are really successful who wears a wig, and there are some guys at toplace who also can pull it off. If you look at Matthew Mccouneghey (typo), you have an example of a guy that really can pull it of.

A wig also look much better than a transplant. If you add a Keser or Rahal hairline in addition to your hair piece, then you will have the best aesthitical results, no doubt.
