Am I losing the battle? (Balding)

Hi all,

I want to start apologize for my English, it’s not my native language.

So I wanted to ask for your honest opinion about my ongoing balding.

You might think why do I ask here instead of asking someone in real life. The answer is I have, many times. People here were I live are generally afraid to speak their mind. It’s much more important to be polite and positive rather than be honest since that could be seen as “brutal” or “discouraging”.

Also I think I am a bit in denial, I read what I want to hear and I watch photos just to reassure myself that I’m not THAT bold, so everything is fine. Everyone have the same balding crown as I do. It’s normal. It’s just a whirl, a cowlick, or even two whirls. But is it really? Probably no.

It’s getting closer and closer to summer, the days are longer and brighter. The sunlight is revealing what I try to hide. Everyone who’s taller than me, or stand on a balcony or window over me, can see it. I’m thinking it might be time to buzz my hair off now.

I have let my hair grow from buzz cut to now, about 8 months. I have had buzz cut hair for over 10 years and I wanted a change. The thing is that my hair looks OK from some angles, close to “good” but the crown and top of my head is bad.

I am 44 years old. The photos are very recent, some are from today and others a week old. You will see that my hair can look OK in some angles and also with the top knot I made. It’s not good but I feel it’s OK still. Then you see the crown, fully visible with hair wax, and some pictures were I tried to cover it using a comb and hair spray.

This is so sensitive for me that I have had brief looks at “balding crown” on google images just to think “Oh they are completely bald, I am not. So everything is great” To put it simple, I have a hard time face the truth still. I feel like I’m 25 (like most of the people my age, guess it’s comforting to think that) but I’m not. Im ready for brutal honesty and I appreciate any feedback
