After Costeralis' discovery on the lack of progenitor cells in the scalps of balding men I wonder why more doctors are not trying to extract stem cells from bone marrow and re-inject them into the scalp. I think doctors should start trying this instead of PRP/Acell. If you think about it, the one thing that MAYBE working with PRP/Acell is where the needle is entering the scalp is causing a wounding process and the regeneration results in a little bit of thickening, nothing too cosmetically significant, therefore the actual PRP and Acell being injected maybe doing absolutely nothing.
The stem cells from Bone Marrow are adult stem cells with the capacity to differentiate and in addition there is a huge stem cell count. Maybe that's the answer to getting all the thinning hair to grow thick again, so why aren't doctors trying it out?
