    Default Question about donor hair

    Hi Guys

I am going to have my second HT in a few months after bad growth on the first one , it was a small procedure so plenty of hair donor left and it will be by FUE again.

Now my poblem is that I braded my hair at the back for 5 years, which everytime caused a lot of hairloss, I am talking thousand everytime, I buzzed my hair 6 months ago and the donor site looks completly normal, probably a lof of this hair grew back, but not as strong as they would have been in the first place

Should I recommend the doctor to use my lateral hair for my procedure? , if the hairs at my back are still there and it looks normal, Can I assume they are still strong to survive a transplant ? .., any input would be very much aprecciated, thank you!!

The hair you lost due to the trauma of having it braided was likely temporary so, as long as it has grown back, your traditional donor supply should be fine for transplanting.

    Hi There

    thanks for your input

That is my concern, it did grow back as I have a complete normal and dense donor supply BUT, I am worriedn that because it fell with a bit of dermis on it (white bits ) that it is not a strong as it would have been in the beginning.

    Thanks again

Your surgeon will take a close look to assess your donor hair, and will do so regardless of this issue, (which you should mention to him/her anyway, if for no other reason than to ease your fears) but there is no reason to believe that the hairs won't be just as good as the rest of your donor area.

I agree that any damage to your donor from previous braiding would have already happened. If it has already grown back you should be ready to go. Good luck. Think positive. Life is short.

So this means a HT doesn't make any sense at all.

Not sure how you got that message. Hopefully, life is not that short.
