    Default Hair loss around crown

    Hi,

25 year old male. Last week I took a picture of the top my head and noticed what seems to be hair loss around the left back side of the crown. The scalp seems to be quite red as well and is itchy from time to time. One of the pictures also seems to show small white spots in the hair. This is not clear from the other pictures, but my hear is very light of colour so I can't tell.

I have attached different pictures including a front picture. Is this the start of MPB? In case yes, is there a likely a good success rate with some meds to restore?

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks

You should definitely see someone concerning this but you've probably got some very light thinning on the crown tbh. I'm in a slightly worse position than you and I've started Minoxidil with a view to taking Propecia as well in a few months time.

You've almost certainly caught this at the right time as you've still got a very good head of hair with virtually no recession and with some medication, you can probably mitigate the damage going forwards and even improve this area.

A hair transplant at this time is not something any reputable clinic would consider as you've a) still got a lot of hair there, b) you're still young and c) they've no way of predicting where else you're going to thin as you've still got a good head of hair.
