Quit FIN after 12 years, immmediate loss... advice

    Hey guys,

I used FIN for twelve years (plus Nizoral, Rogaine, and vitamins) and have had pretty good luck keeping what I had. The sexual sides, as I aged, became too much and my testosterone levels plunged around year ten. I had to get off FIN. Sexual function has since improved, but I am losing hair like crazy. It's as though you immediately begin shedding years worth of preserved hair once you quit FIN.

So, does anyone have any help/advice for me? I'm not extraordinarily vain, but my skin type (very fair) and facial structure just really benefit from hair. And I'm losing fast. Has anyone out there had luck coping with the loss after quitting FIN?

Not sure how old you are but maybe talk to your doctor about testosterone therapy and stay on the Fin. That's not without it's issues either but that's what I'd do.

Wow, that's some crazy stuff. This drug works. And it looks like if we get off it, we wind up seeing very quickly just how far our hair loss would have advanced without it.

I just refilled my prescription and you've just convinced me to stay on finasteride as long as I still want to have hair. Along with minoxidil, my results have been excellent without any side effects, except an occasionally dry scalp from all the minox i pour on it (I use about 3x the recommended amount. I put it all over the top of my head since all that hair was miniaturizing)

If you are having problems with sexual function, why not get a prescription for viagra, cialis, or the other sexual function enhancing drugs? Those are also known to be safe and effective.

Oh yeah? Well...yeah. I'm not sure what you mean by that.

Do I have the answer for everything? No I don't.
