Scabs Day 14 and sun exposure with a hat okay?

    Hey guys,

I'm now at day 14 after FUE and the itchy feeling is almost gone, pain very rarely to none and just a bit of tension on the donor area. Now, I still have some scabs or what is called. My doctor told me, I didn't wash hard enough. The whole hair process is just a lot of mental pressure and I didn't want to be overpressuring (but I still washed 2 times a day).

Can I remove the scabs in the shower per hand....or just rub harder?

Another question is, can I go into the sun with a hat on? Let's say I stay in the sun and get a bit of a tan but have 24/7 a hat on, is this still okay?

    Thanks in advance a lot!

Yes, sun with a hat covering your head is a-okay. Just make sure it fully covers everything, particularly the recipient area. You'll want to avoid direct sun exposure for 6 months.

As for the scabs, don't forcefully remove them. Instead, when you take a shower, let warm suds from your shampoo sit on top of your scalp for several minutes and let the scabs start to soften up. As you do this, they'll start to come off effortlessly. You can ask your doctor if he has specific instructions on how to do this, (as each doctor has their own protocol), but we provide our patients with a soft sponge they can use to assist with cleaning the scalp post-op. Hope this helps.
