Should I start using Rogaine on the top of my head...or just keep shaving bald?

I don't look too bad bald, but I wonder if Rogaine will do anything for me. My hair on the sides and back is relatively thick to the view people get of them, the problem is the top. The hair loss there is a lot more noticecable and the hair there is a lot thinner. I usually shave my head bald, but I was wondering if I used minoxidil whether the hair growth would be substantial enough for me to maybe style my hair, or have it as thick as the rest of my head?

Also would putting minoxidil/rogaine on the little hair I have vs my bald skin make a difference?

Rogaine won't stop hairloss. Propecia will halt your hairloss and maybe regrow what you have lost. You will never get a full head a hair with just rogaine.

Agreed. Based on what you describe Propecia is your best bet. Rogaine will help to retain some of what you have but the process of hair loss will continue because Minoxidil's medium of delivery is topical and you need something to combat the internal chemical and hormonal activity triggered by your genetics... i.e Finasteride.

Took propecia for a week a while back and had a very noticeable side effect maybe one that lasted slightly of having my dick go soft and not having any sexual urges at all.

U can give rogaine and nizoral a try, you got nothing to lose. Worst case senario ull keep shaving ur head.

I just want to know basically if
1. Can and does typically Roagine grow hair on the top of the head where my hair is the thinnest?
2. Can I apply it to a shaved head or ONLY a head with short/thinned hair?
