Dr. Lindsey Discussing FUE of fine and thicker hairs using plants as an analogy

In this video I show how FUE's avulsion of the deep root from the scalp may put additional stress on the root bulbs of all hair when compared to strip surgery and careful dissection under the microscope. In particular though, as I and others have pointed out, thin fine hair likely has less "safety margin" than thick beefy hair roots.

I posted a discussion on the forums recently on this and there were lots of questions emailed to me. So to illustrate, I did this short video using small plants to show how FUE is done and why I think finer hair is at increased risk of root shock when compared to thicker roots OR fine hair strip surgery.

Remember, I am not a videographer.

Everyone thinks FUE is super easy and always works. Its a great technique BUT has limitations. Watch this and understand.Washington DC hair doctor explain...
