Proscar vs Propecia

Is brand name Proscar the exact same chemical as the chemical in Propecia but in a higher dose ?

Say if i switch from propecia to a 1/5 proscar daily will I shed or anything (both brand name merck)

Hard to tell because everybody is reacting differently. I was on propecia before but it was too expensive (im a student) so ive decided to switch for finasteride, one quater everyday. I had no sheds from the switch and im still ok with the meds. The best thing to do, is to try it. Wish you all the best mate
