Greetings,
Here is a patient in his early 40's. He presented with significant hair loss and is predicted to have significantly more in the future, progressing to a Norwood 6 by age 50.
The plan was to keep a very conservative hairline (knowing that eventually there would be a supply / demand imbalance) and attempt to add as much density to the frontal and mid scalp. I also wanted to do my best to keep the donor scar as small as possible so that when the patient returned for a second procedure I could remove the donor scar with the new incision and still get a good amount of follicles to transplant in procedure number 2.
Everything went according to plan. We kept the conservative hairline and a significant amount of fullness was added. The patients strip scar is approximately 1mm with hair growing through it. The after photos are shown after 11 months.
The patient is thrilled with his results and will be returning in the next year for a second procedure to add density.
