Interesting article, good read. Hopefully blocking that receptor doesn't affect much else.

Interesting thing here is how Niacin(Perscription Niaspan) increase PGD2 at the skin level causing the sever flush. Although in the prescribing info and post marketing reports DO NOT show hair loss as a side effect.

i wonder why we have not seen a single before/after pic of any of these "breakthrough treatments".. could it be because none of them actually work.. sad

Because they aren't "treatments"; they're biological discoveries that may or may not lead to effective treatments for hair loss someday.

Ongoing phase 3 trial for controlling GPR44 receptor for curing asthma.
i wonder these conductors are also looking at hair growth.if not, costarelis and others should inform them about their discovery, so we wouldn't need a seperate trial for hair growth.

This is the most interesting point raised out of all the talk about PGD2. If there are already drugs out their that increase and decrease PGD2 levels for various ailments, there must be some indication if these are affecting hair to any significance as a side affect?

Default It is called PROGRESSIVE RESEARCH people

Historically ,scientific research in Medicine is also usually very SERENDIPITOUS. There is usually never a 'quick fix' cure, medically speaking.
Yes baldness has always been around but has there ever been so much SERIOUS focus on finding a viable treatment for it before,,especially with the latest technology available. Technology, i might add, that is EVOLVING and growing all the time. Look up the history of Polio and how it had been around forever. Not until the 'community' at large had set out to destroy it, hypothetically it would still be a scourge to this day.
Look ahead to our horizon with positive eyes people.
