Default Does minoxidil work for younger people? Like 17 year olds...

Just wondering if minoxidil doesn't work as well on younger people, I've started to use it along with nizoral 2% shampoo. I don't have terrible thinning but it is becoming thinner and like I said I'm only 17 so I'm pretty adament on trying to get it to stop progressing for as long as possible... Thanks in advance!

I think you should continue using minoxidil and Nizoral shampoo. Definitely not a cure, but worth using because they help a little. What is your family history of hair loss? Here is a short list of do's and don'ts:

    Do:
Continue to drink coffee if you enjoy it.
    Exercise and eat healthy foods.
Brush your hair, massage your scalp and do scalp exercises.
See a dermatologist and ask about an RX for a corticosteroid like Cordran SP that has a known side of excessive hair growth. Should only be used occasionally.
Use a natural shampoo that contains anagen stimulators and DHT inhibitors.
To cover all bases, take a supplement like Buried Treasure's Hair Skin and Nails. Keep in mind that a nutritional deficiency leading to hair loss is rare... Just Google "Homeless men", hit "Images" and take note of all of the full heads of hair.
If you can afford it, have regular PRP treatments. They are safe and PRP is made from your own blood.

    Don'ts:
    Don't sunburn your scalp.
Avoid stress as much as possible.
    Avoid smoking cigarettes.
Don't baby your hair out of fear some will come out.

Please keep in mind that following the advice above will not cure Androgenic Alopecia. It will just help a little. When you are older the option of finasteride or dutasteride will be available to you. They are usually very effective. I personally wouldn't take it, but that decision is up to you.
