I believe it's in phase IIb trial until this september, then they go to Phase III if they like the results. Essentially they felt the product worked(and it does) but didn't think it worked ENOUGH(probably around the same as rogaine) so they went to a higher dose for IIb.

so potentially in about a year and a half-2 years.

it will launch, but they're testing higher doses right now, it works but they may not like the side-effects or think it's a reasonable enough upgrade on Minoxidil to warrant paying millions for Phase III.

I believe that the current trial is scheduled to end January 2015 (http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/sh...st+hair&rank=1).

However, in one of the last conference calls in which they mentioned bimatoprost for hair (which was several conference calls ago), they described this clinical trial as the first of two they were planning on running. As there is only one study listed, I am assuming that they are not running the studies concurrently, and given the certainty with which it was stated, it is possible that when this one ends in January 2015 they will be starting another Phase II clinical trial (which would be another year/year and a half). One would assume that if this current one worked like gang busters they would skip the next one, but I guess one cannot know what they're looking for so perhaps they're going to run the second one regardless.

For those interested in what's going on with this product, this interview with the CEO is a good one to watch (http://www.cnbc.com/id/100702571). At least in this interview, he seems to feel pretty positive about the product's potential for effectiveness and eventual release. He also gives some sense of the time frame which the company is looking at.

Yeah he says in the video 2019-2020. Why could I have not been born 5 years before I was. They will have CB and Bimatropost on the market in 5 years. Unfortunately I will be at least a nw5.

As far as your progress through the scale, you might be surprised. I don't know where you're at now and how fast things have progressed up to this point for you, but I often find that people overestimate how fast it will progress. If there is a viable "cure" in 2020, we'll be the luckiest SOB's in the history of the world. I'm still skeptical that there will be anything significant by then, but nothing would make me happier than to be wrong about that.

Actually, I find this really depressing. I remember when they were talking about 2016-2017. Back then even that seemed far away. Now it seems like they're doing three phase II trials? I'll be a chrome dome by the time this reaches the market. Just how long does it take to run trials for a product that is already FDA approved for lower doses?
