Yea I would say his hair is receding but it's just the way he decides to wear / style his hair that doesn't make it look obvious

so he does have some recession? it doesn't seem to have changed though in at least seven years. would his recession worsen or would it stay like that?

whynot
Ha!! I've been wondering about that for years. In my opinion, he's got the absolute perfect balance between adult recession & full hair density. It's so rare to see that - usually people who are that receded experience some obvious thinning as well. The rest of his hair is full, including his crown. Either he's got some amazing genetics, or has been on finasteride. Allons-y!

Henrysickle, David Tennant has no hair worries whatsoever, i wouldn't bother even looking into this guys hairline for your research, he is one lucky son of a...!
He'll be one of those guys that holds onto his hair for years to come and if he doesn't he won't be on our screens for much longer, you'll have to go the theatre to see him.
James Nesbitt, now there's your man.

hey!!! so in my quest to determine david tennants norwood or whatever, i stumbled across this pic!
he only looks early 20's in this picture. i could be wrong, but his hairline looks pretty much the same as it does now... but it looks slightly past the mature/norwood 2 mark... but he's got perfect density!
