    weight training and hair loss
Hi I am a 17 year old guy who has a receding hairline thanks to genetics... What I am wondering is if me going to the gym and lifting weights trying to get bigger will speed up the balding process... BTW were talking no steroids whatsoever

I dont lift weights anymore cause of my ****ing hair loss.

Put it this way... steroids cause hair loss... weights increase natural test levels... so yeah... i'd say it does.

I think my years in the gym contributed to my hair loss.

    Hi guys

Thought I'd chime in as I train myself. Have a look at these threads:

I am not a doctor but I do believe that the temporary spike in testosterone levels would not have any significant effect on hair loss, quite similarly to having sex / masturbation. I guess there is always a risk but I personally have done plenty of heavy lifiting over the years (I'm 6ft and about 200lbs with a body fat of about 17%). I would stay away from creatine or testosterone boosting supplements though. Also, it would be prudent to incoporate a cardio regime into your programme.

    No probs guys...

Like I say, this is just my opinion but as long as you stay "natural", avoid the roids and adopt a sensible, balanced exercise program, you'll be fine. A good workout does wonders so don't deny yourself that!
