    Receding pattern?
Hey guys I'm just wondering about a certain mpb pattern. My father had an interesting mpb pattern that I believe I will follow. I am curious as to why or how it receded in such a pattern that I didn't even know about. He started off with the normal nw2 at about 20 years old and progressed into a nw3 which he held until he was about 42. The strange thing is that the shape stayed a nw3, but his front hair thinned out significantly. There was no thinning on the back of his head just mainly the front. I've never see any posts about that pattern and was wondering how common it was and if it's easier to fight than the further stages of mpb?

It sounds like your dad had a mature hairline, and having a mature hairline puts you at about a NW2 and it can be like that from when your 20 to possibly your late 30s early 40s but its still a sign of MPB just not as severe as others and won't progress as quick but it is still possible to get some thinning.

But in pictures it seems as if his temples receded far back as to a Norwood 3. Could that just be considered HIS mature hairline?

It could be and just receded a bit more over time but if it hasn't really progressed more than that then it sounds like his hair is slowly thinning.

Is your hair now similiar to his when he was younger.

Yeah for the most part. We have the same shape hairline which is a little more far back than most. So is there a possibility that his normal Norwood 2 looks more like a Norwood 3 due to our normal hairline?
