    Am I going bald?

Hello..my name is mickey and i am 18 years old, as the title says i dont know if i am balding and i would like to hear your opinion and maybe give me an advice.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/152/66030701.jpg/ As you can see on left side is like this and on the right side i didnt had hair since i was born i think, so its this what a mature hairline should look or i got a big forehead or going bald?
this is how my hair looks normally http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/717/img0665av.jpg/
Ah and yeh no one in my family is bald, except my grandfather on my mother side but he is 72 :| , also if i dont have beard means my dht is low?
Thanks you in advance and sorry for my bad english!

I think that your hair looks fine to be honest. I don't know about that beard theory linked with lower dht.

Actually facial hair and body hair growth is a sign of higher DHT. So the lack of body hair just means lower DHT yes - but that doesn't mean your hair folliciles are any less susceptible - it just may take longer for the slow "strangulation."

But the link has never really been studied, so its all anecdotal.

What sucks is you see some guys with hair *everywhere* and yet never go bald. Screw you Mother Nature!

My opinion, your hair looks fine. But the pictures aren't very good (blurry) so it is tough to make out any "extra" scalp that might be visible.

          Enjoy yourself your 18yrs old

Buddy I do not think your going bold and you should not stress. Your 18 and you can hold your hair that is a big thing.

Just make sure you manage it and start early if you a worried.

My advice from a medication standpoint (ps I am no doctor, you should always check with him)

              1. Propecia - It easy to take, its a little expensive but you can find a generic brand that does the same. I have not had any side effects, but if you feel that you do then stop it.

              2. Minoxidil - Its a solution you put in your hair. You can get it really cheap online, but you have to put it in your hair every morning and night. I also use a scalp roller, which helps for it to penetrate into the scalp.

These are the ones you want to stick with, as everything else has not been proven and could ride you. We have all been there.

Like anything monitor your hair lose to see if it gets better, take pictures if need be.

Just do not rush into a hair transplant. You need to have lose a bit of hair before you can get one because once they extract the donor hair thats it, you only have a limited amount. No more, unless your a hairy bastard like me and have it everywhere else other then the top of my head.

If anyone else has something they would recommend then do so.

In my opinion spend a little money on your hair now will save you in the future.

Man I wore a hat for a lot of my 20's till about 23 till i realised that i could take it off. By the looks of it you were not in the same boat as me. Just try and do a little to help your hair, and otherwise be 18...go get some girls

Looks like you're getting a mature hairline. You seem to have good density elsewhere so I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it gets worse, see a doc. Otherwise don't worry about it.

Your hair is fine!!!!!! I see people recommending Propecia for you at 18.... Pleased don't disrupt your hormone levels at 18.... Can I give you one piece of advise?.... Trust me, you will thank me later!!! Mickey93..... stay away from the balding sites.. It will drive you insane.. You will think there is shit wrong with you, that has nothing at all to do with you. When feeling even a little bit insecure.... your mind will, and can play tricks on you. Bro, your 18... Go to the beach, hang with girls, go to school... live life!!! I promise you, your hairline, and density are fine!!!!!! If you truly are concerned, go see a DR. Im sure you are probably covered on insurance, at least I hope you are.

Go live life.... it goes by faster then you can realize!!! Once again, your hair is fine!!! Im not a sugar coat answer, kind of guy... Go live life!!!

Yeah dude, your hair looks fine and I'm kinda jealous because I used to have that much hair just a few years ago and I styled and got it cut exactly like yours looks and I must say I always thought it looked really good. However I don't have the hairline or density anymore to make that haircut work.
Rock the haircut while you can and don't worry too much.

Just keep an eye on your hair and luckily by the time you become noticeably balder there will probably be a cure or significantly better treatment than what is currently available. (i.e Replicel, Histogen..) I would stay away from propecia if i were you, at least for now. I'm not saying it is an evil drug or anything but I believe it is far more likely to cause side effects in younger guys just based on experience from myself and other guys on this forum.

Good luck and for your sake, I hope to never see you back on this forum again.

No one has wished you luck yet on this thread so good luck and I hope it all works out well for you as I'm sure it is an event that causes excitement mixed with nervousness.

go out and live your life...by the time you "bald", if you ever do, there will be a cure.

Please live your life and stay away from HELL !!!

You have a textbook Norwood 2 hairline at this point. This is also commonly referred to as a mature hairline. Most men between the ages of 18-25 develop a similar hairline. If it progresses much beyond that, you likely have male pattern baldness. If it doesn't, you likely don't.
