    Marc Dauer, MD-Norwood 7 patient- 2411 Grafts
    Greetings,

Here is a patient of mine who happens to be a Surgeon himself. He presented as a norwood 7 with below average donor density and very fine hair. We discussed his limited donor reserves and realistic expectations regarding hairline placement and coverage. He was fine with a very conservative hairline and focusing the initial procedure on the frontal and mid scalp and addressing the crown in the future.

The patient received 2411 grafts via FUT. His donor scar is less than 1mm and essentially invisible. The patient is thrilled with his results and wants a second procedure to move back towards the vertex and add more density to the frontal scalp. In the future, we will preform another strip procedure next and then take FUE grafts above and below the strip scar as well as from his neck beard for filler throughout the mid scalp and crown.

As I always state, when you see hair transplant patients who have very aggressive, low, rounded hairlines, with low density and massive vacant spaces of scalp, it becomes a giveaway for an unnatural hair transplant. My philosophy in patients with severe hair loss and limited donor reserves is always to create a higher hairline with higher density. A hairline that looks like it naturally receded that way as opposed to an artificial hairline.

This patient tells me that no one commented that he has had a hair transplant, rather everyone says to him he looks amazing and and they ask where he went on vacation or if he is more tan than usual (which he is not). The patient is thrilled and so am I.

Great approach! Easy to see why no one noticed. How many grafts does he have avaiable? Any shots of his donor?

I didn't take any photos of the donor but will do and post prior to his next procedure. The donor scar is invisible. He has around 1800-2000 available via FUT for his next procedure (his last FUT) and then about 1000 more via FUE from the scalp and between 1000-1500 available from the neck beard if he wishes to use those as well.
