    DNA modification now a reality?
    Hello.

    I stumbled upon this article:
    http://rt.com/news/153952-dna-editing-crispr-mice/

It really got my hopes up. But as usual it is probably a long time before it is put in use, and even a longer time before they start targeting hairloss with this technology.

What do you think about it? Is it possible this might be our hairloss cure?
My personal opinion has alaways been that DNA modification is the future.

Genetic engineering is promising, but many years away from human application.

Yes. That is true. But what option isn't years away? I personally think:
"This is why the team is excited to be able to offer the technique to humans within a few years. "

Sounds better than 5-10 years. English isn't my mother language, but doesn't a few years often mean 2-3 years? This is if it works on hairloss.

Almost all this stuff is decades away. It moves slower then you would even guess. Getting stuff like this to become common and cost effective is a very slow process even if it does work safely

So, what good is it for us, for which this method cannot be applied. Better wish for a cure than this.
