Dr. Lindsey 2400 graft repair case of sparse frontal and mini-grafted crown McLean, V
This nice fellow came in with the hairstyle shown in picture 1 and I asked him why he was here. He said he wears his hair this way to cover up a somewhat sparse front and crown, but in particular he doesn’t like the central part-line. He reports paying for around 4000 grafts over 3 surgeries elsewhere.

The first option we discussed fairly frankly was doing nothing, but he plans to get a different hairstyle. The second option was just to do a few hundred grafts to that central part. He preferred really packing the entire front, and whatever extra grafts we got out, we’d just add to his somewhat pluggy crown. We didn’t excise a larger strip, but he was quite dense and a nice 3 layer closure ought to yield a decent scar.
We placed about 1900 grafts up front to pack and irregularize his straight and sparse hairline, and the central part region. Remaining grafts were placed in the crown.
With hair like he has, I bluntly told him that his biggest risk was allowing his native hair to stick to my grafts and pull them out. He was very diligent about avoiding this and at 1 week, when we removed the sutures he looked good. He lives fairly close and I believe we’ll have subsequent followup pictures on this man.
