Cut fincar turning to powder in mouth?

I recently switched from finpecia to fincar, and i cut the pills in 4ths.
Whenever i try and swallow the pill with water though, it disintegrates into powder almost immediately.
Is this normal, seeing as the protective coating from the pill has been breached?

I did not experience that when I was using proscar. But the pill somehow turned into powder when cutting it down so at times I had to throw some pieces away.

They can be crumbly which is why I think it's a bad idea when people pre-cut lots of tablets at once.

As long as you wash it all down you will still be ingesting the drug. It's definitely best to ensure that whatever blade you're cutting them with is nice and sharp. This gives a clean cut and they're less likely to crumble.

Generic Propecai or 1 mg Finasteride should be available in the next few months so hopefully you will not need to cut any tablets in the near future.
