Not sure if Telogen effluvium or balding?

Over the past year and a half I’ve gained around 80 pounds from poor eating habits and have noticed my hair being thinner the past year or so. However my hairline has not receded whatsoever and I am not losing excess hairs. When I part my hair I can see my scalp and My crown has gotten somewhat thinner. Is this temporary that proper diet can fix or just mpb? Note my dad still has a ton of hair and my moms dad had hair till his 80s
