Dr. Ken Anderson, FISHRS, FAAFPRS, walks the viewers through "long hair" FUE using the advanced ARTAS Robotic Hair Transplant System. This method of follicular unit extraction (FUE) using the ARTAS system allows a patient to have a hair transplant without trimming down all the hair. This is for those who do not want a linear scar in the donor area, but also don't want to trim down all of their hair, which is standard procedure for typical ARTAS Robotic Hair Transplant Surgery cases. Due to the reduced surface area that is exposed for FUE, the number of grafts that can be safely harvested with this method is reduced from the maximum. Depending on the size of the head and the density of the hair follicles, 1000-1400 grafts could be harvested with this method.

The Anderson Center for Hair is one of two training centers for the Restoration Robotics Corp, the company that developed and manufactures the ARTAS system. Physicians who acquire a new ARTAS system spend time at the Anderson Center for Hair learning from Dr. Anderson how best to use, control, and harness the robotic technology for the most optimal results.
